Sonic in 2013 top 9 part 1

Here's a top 9 list things that happened to Sonic The Hedgehog in 2013.

9.Sonic Boom-toon

It was announced this year that a new Sonic cartoon will be coming in 2014. Being that this hasn't happened yet it get the 9 spot. Sonic returns to TV after 10 or so years away. Coming to Cartoon Network in the USA, Sonic & friends are getting a new look. From the looks of the preview pic Tails & Amy will look the same for the most part beside his tools in hand and her new outfit not being a dress. And that looks nothing like Knuckles, REALLY!? This show is going to be for more younger viewers than any of the past shows, so I really don't think there will be anything that will change the way people think of Sonic for the better.Working title for now is SONIC BOOM like the song and the big Sonic events, but that can easily change for the better or worst.

8. Sonic the balloon

2011 had the return of Sonic to the Macy's Day parade for his 20th birthday. 2011-2013 Sonic floating in the sky was not just a plug for the new game of the year but to show that video games have an impact the way we live.1993 Sonic floated once and was the first video game balloon in the parade, now he has been seen flying in the sky for 3 years straight now which shows that he is back on his feet at super sonic speeds.

7. Summer blues

2011 for the big birthday party of everything Sonic for the last 20 years there was a summer skate boarding event to promote the new Sonic game. Skaters of all ages and legends skated with Sonic walking around. Happening in the summer but wasn't shown on FOX SPORTS TV until a few months later.Well in 2013 the event was brought back for Sonic The Lost World. Shot in the summer again but didn't hit the TV until December. Sonic uses a skate board in like 1 game and maybe a little in one of the cartoons but I don't think of skating with Sonic. Well it has Sonic, a lot of skaters, and brings fans of t2 totally different things together for a short while which I think is something.

6. Sonic Boom on the move

Sonic Boom was first set in the same time and area as Comic-con and the again in 2012. In 2013 Sonic Boom was moved half way across the country and pushed back by a month. An event all about Sonic with special guests, preview, and rare items on sale put together by SEGA way move far away from the nerd homeland of Comic-con to stand on its own feet. Being a blue blur only convention has lost some of its surprise now by having it survive of Sonic fans coming to a new location with nothing else going on in the area just for Sonic anything show that if you put Sonic in the name and the fans will come. Hope 2014 Sonic Boom comes to Indy. That will save some gas money for me.

Ender's text review

Little review for Ender's Game last night.

It start out well around the main character but the history of the world wad not fully given so it was hard to feel that someday all of that would happen. Not too long after that the movie feels like a generic teen film which got me bored fast. The ending was a real let down as 1 twist was handled badly and the other wasn't set up too well.

The one part I remember the most is seeing Harrison Ford hanging on wires for a few second zero-G scene. It's funny to look at and sad to think about. It has some good/okay parts but after seeing the movie, I'm happy I didn't read the books. Reader enjoy, viewer beware.

Halloween comic countdown #1

Like every day that has free comic books Sonic is the one I want the most.

1 - SONIC LOST WORLD

2 - CARTOON NETWORK SUPER SAMPLER

3 - MY LITTLE PONY HALLOWEEN EDITION

4 - ADVENTURE TIME

5 - UZUMAKI

6 - BATMAN THE LONG HALLOWEEN #1

7 - PANTALONES TX ZOMBINATA

Of course it's a Sonic comic as my number 1. Reprint or not even a story, I will pick the Blue Blur above all. I've been a fan for what some say to be too many years and I still love it in one way or another. Given the story in this issue I hope there will be some extras like pin-ups or up-to-date data files.

This is a sort of reprint. It's a story prequel to the new Sonic game Sonic Lost World for the Nintendo's WiiU & 3DS. It was going to premiere in the Sonic Super Special magazine #9 but this comes out a few weeks before that. The art looks great from the preview and giving that the story takes place before the game there could be some fun things here that won't be seen or made clear in the game.

I have high hopes for this comic since most of the other comics are reprints in a way but this will be way fresher than those. This issue is at a great price of course and will pad out a Sonic comic set or gifted with the game very well. This is a comic for Sonic fans of the comic or game for sure.Give this a read so you don't have to pay the $10 for the magazine if that's what you're after in it

4 - ADVENTURE TIME

5 - UZUMAKI

6 - BATMAN THE LONG HALLOWEEN #1

7 - PANTALONES TX ZOMBINATA

Cartoon Network has moved it's best title from DC to IDW. Ben 10 is a show I liked but not like like so I don't care about that part even if Cartoon Network has about 4 shows, at least 2 movies, countless games & toys, and spammed Ben 10 all over their comics with DC.

Powerpuff Girls was an amazing show that should have lasted longer. I haven't read the comics of the show but from what I saw it was very well done and the interview for the new comic gives me high hopes on the new comic run.

Samurai Jack was my favorite show when it was on TV and in many ways I still pick it over 99% of TV shows that came before and after it. I grabbed all the Samurai Jack comics that I could from DC even though they were shout or very short stories. Now that it's with IDW I'm going to keep track of this comic for sure and I hope that there are real story arcs of an on going series that it deserves.

Looking at the preview of this issue the Samurai Jack story is a reprint of one of the DC stories. I don't know about the other 2 stories. Check out family friendly stories based on the best shows that Cartoon Network could make at the time they came out.

7 - PANTALONES TX ZOMBINATA

I am a My Little Pony fan for a little over a year now with the Friendship Is Magic series. The comics are do by some artists and writers that are very good at what they do but I haven't read any of the comics yet since I still need to finish season 2 of the show.

This issue is a reprint of some story from other issues and other items to deal with MLP. It's a good sampler issue for those who want to check out the comic and some of the scarier parts that where in the comic so far. The cover of this issue the biggest reason I'm getting this comic as it's so beautiful to me and I just WANT IT! See what's so hot about ponies lately with this very special issue that makes me wish I could color that well.

4 - ADVENTURE TIME

5 - UZUMAKI

6 - BATMAN THE LONG HALLOWEEN #1

7 - PANTALONES TX ZOMBINATA

Adventure Time is my favorite show right now. From beginning to end on every episode and issue of the comic is great! Like the other free Adventure Time comics this one is a reprint of an issue that is out already. Being that it's an Adventure Time comic it's one that I'm getting for sure just because it's AMAZING!

As for everyone else, This is a stand alone issue that is a good jumping on point for people who want to check out the comic or the preview the show in paper form. A free comic of the best show on TV is a win for any one. Look out for the snail.

I've stayed away from horror manga due to the creepy art work and how the story could mess with your head. After hearing about this series a few time on Atop The Forth Wall I now see that there is a bigger picture to this book. I will be happy to be creeped out by this book for Halloween and become even more crazy.

For every 2,000 super hero Christmas comics there are 1 super hero Halloween comic. Any super hero comic with Halloween as it's theme in one way or another should be supported. This Batman story has been know to be one of the best I haven't read it so far. Getting my hands on the first part of the story could just be what I need to read more Batman.

Halloween comic countdown #7

October 26th, the Saturday before Halloween is Halloween Comic Fest 2013. Comic shops across the country with be giving FREE COMICS! Since this is the second year of Halloween Comic Fest there will be 22 different comics given away. With fewer comics than Free Comic Book Day there are fewer comics I'm looking forward to. So numbers #5-#7 are really filler.

My favortie thing about Star Trek 2

This is a comment I wrote for the Star Trek Wiki for a contest.

My favorite thing from Star Trek Into Darkness was the 3D. It really was the best 3D movie I've seen and I've told others that they should pay for the 3D.
The 3D made the movie feel a little more real and life like. Sure beats Iron Man 3 3D for sure. The trees blended in so well, the spears looked liked they were coming at me, the ships looked like models floating in the air, and the actors (mainly their closeup faces) looked like a person standing in front of me and not just a movie screen.
Star Trek Into Darkness did a lot of things right and well, some things really not well or just not right, but it was Star Trek Into Darkness that showed me what a real 3D is from beginning to end and what all future 3D movies I see will be compared to (namely World War Z & Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2).

Join the brigade

The Sonic The Hedgehog and Mega Man is well on it's way with part 4 that came out this week. Mega Man #25 also marks the end of the first act of the 12 part story. The first 4 parts can be easily found in comic shop, book store, or online applications with 8 more issue on the way. After the story line is complete all issue will be available in trade paperback. I'm taking the pledge and spreading the word too.

I, webfox100, do solemnly swear, to spread the word of the Sonic/Mega Man crossover, until everyone in the entire world knows of the awesomeness that is "Worlds Collide," or until Dr. Eggman and Dr. Wily take over the world with their dastardly schemes and outlaw reading.

update 5/10/13

Free Comic Book Day had left me in pain all over my body and exhausted all of my energy for the following 2 days. The day after the pains had faded and energy had some what returned but I found myself well in to a cold I picked up from one of the comic shops. It has now been nearly a week since FCBD and my mind is well again with my body a day or 2 behind it. With all of that out of the way I will be doing a top 9 list of comics from FCBD along with some Fit To Reads and maybe some other videos/blog posts too.

A MEGA week

Mega Man #25 - ARCHIE COMICS
Mega Man issue 25 came out this week which marks 2 years since Archie comics started the series. Mega Man has been around for 25 years now making this issue an important deal to the blue bomber. Issue 25 is also part 4 of 12 in the Sonic and Mega Man cross over and the end of act 1 of the story. The story is going well and the art looks great. Trade paperbacks are still months away but you can easily find issues of the story in comic shops or just get all 4 at once on a digital app for smart phones, tablets, or PC. Follow the check list and spread the word to be apart of the
SONIC HEROES BRIGADE

Free comic countdown #1

1 - SONIC THE HEDGEHOG MEGA MAN FLIPBOOK

2 - WALKING DEAD SPECIAL

3 - KABOOM SUMMER BLAST

4 - DC NATION SUPER SAMPLER #1

5 - ATOMIC ROBO & FRIENDS

6 - DH STAR WARS CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT AVATAR

7 - DRAGON BALL & RUROUNI KENSHIN RESTORATION

Of course it's a Sonic comic that would be my number 1. Sonic The Hedgehog is my favorite thing. Every month I look forward to the 2 different Sonic comics and when Free Comic Book Day comes I drool over the limit free issue. Like every year this issue is special but in a different way from the others.

This year Sonic's comic it a flip book with Mega Man. This is Mega Man's second year at Free Comic Book Day, last year was a reprint of the first issue. I love Sonic in many forms but Mega Man not so much. I played some Mega Man/X/Legends games and it's Legends that I liked the most. Classic MM games are too hard for me and X has a story I don't fully understand. MM had a few cartoons but the first one that was showed in the USA was very good. MM had many comics and manga but it's the Archie series that has a story that sticks to the game's stories while giving the characters, settings, and other factors more life. The art looks amazing as you look at it you can see the comic would look great as a 2D HD update of the games. The comic has been printing for 2 years now by the same artist and writers of the Sonic The Hedgehog comic.

Sonic The Hedgehog has had his comic printing in USA for 20 years now. The longest running comic based on a video game with more than 1 other side Sonic series being printed at the same time. It's the STH comics got made me in to a Sonic fan. This is STH's seventh year being in Free Comic Book Day and like past years the topic of the free issue is involved with the STH story line.

This year is the first time crossover of Sonic & Mega Man in any form. As I type this part 3 of the 12 part story is now on stands for pick up. This flip book is called a part 0 for the crossover. From what is shown in the preview pages this issue reprints parts of the STH & MM issues right before the crossover. This makes since to me but like always I hoped there was more. Maybe there could be in it. Fans who've been following the stories of the 2 comic won't need this issue and I don't think it will help new fan to get in to the stories. Being a STH comic with a bonus MM story I am getting this one for sure. I hope that there's more than just reprints in it.

Happy Free Comic Book Day everyone!

Music movie mess

On the Redbox blog there's a contest to win a DVD by posting a comment of what's your favorite musical. I posted:

Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog is my favorite. The South Park movie is second.

Free comic countdown #2

1 -

2 - WALKING DEAD SPECIAL

3 - KABOOM SUMMER BLAST

4 - DC NATION SUPER SAMPLER #1

5 - ATOMIC ROBO & FRIENDS

6 - DH STAR WARS CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT AVATAR

7 - DRAGON BALL & RUROUNI KENSHIN RESTORATION

The Walking Dead is a great comic and TV show. Some of the games are good too. So having it being close to the top was a good bet.

In this special are 4 short stories from all points of the Walking Dead comics timeline. 1 of the stories was a bonus in a collection book and 2 others where tacked on the front reprints of the issues where the the featured characters were introduced. The last story is going to be an original. I have 1 of the stories but the other 2 that came out are still over priced for what they offer.

This is a pick up for Walking Dead fans of the show or comic and it could be a good jumping on point for any new fans. The price is right and I will grab a few for myself since NONE of these stories will be reprinted in the future trade paperbacks.

3 - KABOOM SUMMER BLAST

4 - DC NATION SUPER SAMPLER #1

5 - ATOMIC ROBO & FRIENDS

6 - DH STAR WARS CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT AVATAR

7 - DRAGON BALL & RUROUNI KENSHIN RESTORATION

This issue is going to be a mixed bag for me because some of the stories in it are of from TV shows that I love and others are from things I don't care about.
Adventure Time is my favorite show on TV now but the story for it is a reprint or part of the first issue.
Regular Show is another favorite of mine and I would like to see how a show that works so well on TV works out in a comic form.
Bravest Warriors is a web show from the same man who made Adventure Time. I haven't seen the show or read the comics yet but if the writing is as good as AT to match it's art it will be tied for my favorite show.
Fiona and Cake is a fan-fic in AT. As cool their stories are until it's more than fan-fic in the show/comic I will only like this story.
I don't care about Ice Age, Peanuts, and Gargield comic books so that's just filler to me.
There are some other things in here but I won't know what they are until I get the issue.

I am Bad Man

I saw Iron Man 3 on Monday. With it coming out for everyone to see on Friday Escapist Magazine put a quiz to see which Iron Man villain you are.

Iron Monger

We're iron mongers, we make weapons.

Take this quiz

"There has never been a villain more successful at destroying Tony Stark like Iron Monger was."

Free comic countdown #4

2 -

3 -

4 - DC NATION SUPER SAMPLER #1

5 - ATOMIC ROBO & FRIENDS

6 - DH STAR WARS CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT AVATAR

7 - DRAGON BALL & RUROUNI KENSHIN RESTORATION

Number 4 is a double hit of new DC super hero stories I can't wait to see on TV soon. As I type this I've seen the first episode of Teen Titans Go! on TV and I really like it and then some. If the show does get it's own comic run then I may have to pick it up as well. Teen Titans only take half of the issue as you can see on the cover there is a Batman story in here too.

Beware The Batman is the new Batman cartoon that's coming to TV. All things Batman on TV have been good to the best thing ever so a lot of eyes will be judging the new show for sure. As for this comic it's a preview of what's to come in the show. If the show is going to be as great as the past ones let's hope some of the good parts get rubbed off on the comic.

I pick this for the Titans mainly but a sneak peek of a new Batman adds some meat for fans new and old to chew on in this freebie.

Free comic countdown #5

1 -

2 -

3 -

4 -

5 - ATOMIC ROBO & FRIENDS

6 - DH STAR WARS CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT AVATAR

7 - DRAGON BALL & RUROUNI KENSHIN RESTORATION

The comic to take the 5th spot is Atomic Robo. I've read only 2 or 3 Atomic Robo stories and I loved them. The series had my heart but due to a hard to finding the issues and the price of the issues I only have a few free issues that are 110% super awesome fun! I can't wait for another crazy story from this nutty robot. There are previews of other stories but I know know what they are of so I don't care for that filler.

Free comic countdown #6

1 -

2 -

3 -

4 -

5 -

6 - DH STAR WARS CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT AVATAR

7 - DRAGON BALL & RUROUNI KENSHIN RESTORATION

This comic is my 6th choice because I'm a big Star Wars fan but the the stories based on the franchise that have been coming out for the past Free Comic Book Days were weak with their scripts and some times art. Having Darth Vader and Boba Fett fighting a ship of stormtroopers seems cool but I don't have high hopes for it this year. This year could prove me wrong but we'll see about that the day after it comes out. *Special note This year Free Comic Book Day is on the same day as Star Wars Day. It doesn't help that this issue is shared with stories from Avatar and Captain Midnight. Avatar is a great show but I have no interest in the comics and I have no idea who Captain Midnight is.

Free comic countdown #7

It is now 6 days until Free Comic Book Day 2013. So from today to that day I will be counting down the top 7 free comic I am looking forward to that's coming out this year.

2 -

3 -

4 -

5 -

6 -

7 - DRAGON BALL & RUROUNI KENSHIN RESTORATION

This is the lowest because I am a fan of the anime for the 2 stories but never had a need to read the manga. With both anime not being on TV for many years now I am in full favor of the reprinting the start on the stories for new reads to start exploring both the worlds of anime and manga. This issue will bring some nostalgia to me and show me a sample of what I missed from the manga.

If the dead could ask

Here is a question I post in the comments of both the Walking Dead and Talking Dead Facebook pages for guests True Blood’s Joe Manganiello and The Walking Dead Creator and Executive Producer, Robert Kirkman to answer on tonight's Talking Dead.

What would happen if Rick's group from the show some how meets Rick's group from the comic? Will they be all buddy buddy, one group kills the other, or something else?

Knowing the comic and show the answer won't be a good one.
