Free movies

Here is a list of websites to get passes for early screenings of upcoming movies before they are released nation wide. These websites are most or all for United States of America screenings and you have to sign up for them all.

Gofobo

Sending pass for movies of all types mainly for up to 2 guests, sometimes 4 for kids movies. More movies you go to the more movie passes you should get. You can get flooded with passes for the same movie but for different times and places to watch it. Many time I get dry spells of no passes at all for 2-4 months.

Sony Screenings

Like Gofobo in the pass guest count and how often passes are sent but only shows SONY movies.

Regal Entertainment Group

Regal may send out a free pass in their newsletters. I forget if you have to also have to be a member to their free members club too. I got one pass from them so far and the passes will be for a screening in a Regal theater.

The Film Yap

The Film Yap is a local movie reviewer/lover website. Many times they will post on their website, newsletter, and/or FaceBook page of mini contests to win passes to an early screening.

Nuvo

The free weekly Indianapolis paper has many contests on their website. Many of which are for passes to early screenings.

Local comic shops

Local comic shop tend to get passes to comic/sci-fi movies. Some will just hand them out, other times you'll have to call in before hand, you may have to buy something some of the other times, and there is even a chance they will have a contest for the passes with other goodies. Be sure to check their websites/Facebook pages/newsletters for updates and don't be afraid to ask.

Lionsgate

Just like the SONY screenings but with Lionsgate films.

Warner Bros. Screenings

 Just like SONY and Lionsgate but with WB films.

I think there was a Paramount screening site too but I can't find it.

Get Screening

This site I haven't used just yet but I hear it's like a blanket site that sends you passes from most of the other sites I talked about above.

Ender's text review

Little review for Ender's Game last night.

     It start out well around the main character but the history of the world wad not fully given so it was hard to feel that someday all of that would happen. Not too long after that the movie feels like a generic teen film which got me bored fast. The ending was a real let down as 1 twist was handled badly and the other wasn't set up too well.

     The one part I remember the most is seeing Harrison Ford hanging on wires for a few second zero-G scene. It's funny to look at and sad to think about. It has some good/okay parts but after seeing the movie, I'm happy I didn't read the books. Reader enjoy, viewer beware.

My favortie thing about Star Trek 2

This is a comment I wrote for the Star Trek Wiki for a contest.

        My favorite thing from Star Trek Into Darkness was the 3D. It really was the best 3D movie I've seen and I've told others that they should pay for the 3D.
        The 3D made the movie feel a little more real and life like. Sure beats Iron Man 3 3D for sure. The trees blended in so well, the spears looked liked they were coming at me, the ships looked like models floating in the air, and the actors (mainly their closeup faces) looked like a person standing in front of me and not just a movie screen.
        Star Trek Into Darkness did a lot of things right and well, some things really not well or just not right, but it was Star Trek Into Darkness that showed me what a real 3D is from beginning to end and what all future 3D movies I see will be compared to (namely World War Z & Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2).

Zombieland was right!

Nothing lasts forever.

Tallahassee played by Woody Harrelson in Zombieland said it best that even a Twinkie has an expiration date. That date is today as Hostess closes down forever meaning the end to the true Twinkie.





I who hardly have that many in my life will regret not having more. Twinkies are a pop icon in the nation so I always thought of it being one of the many things that will live on past me.

Family Guy could have been right that Twinkes would survive the end of the world but it couldn't survive a strike of it's workers.











With Twinkies gone all we have left are ghosts.

Someone dropped the Pixar ball

I found out last Friday that Pixar's latest movie Brave came out during the Summer and I haven't seen any types of ads for it for about 6 or 7 months. How was I suppose to be hyped about or even know it's out to see it the people behind it don't talk about it. No internet banners, reviews, behind the scenes, or other types of advertisement in any for but a few pop ups on XBOX that went away quickly.

Was this movie that bad that everyone stopped talking about it? My sister's man say they saw it awhile ago and that it was okay. Well I guess that proves that this movie is not worth my time so I'm going to pass on it.

Pixar, Disney, anyone else who wants my money, you need to advertise to get you product out then you can go to step 3. Profit. Think about it next time.

My fav "Alien"

The website io9 posted a list of the movies from the ALIEN franchise and what a persons favorite says about them. The first movie Alien is perfect in some many ways and is one of the best horror/sci-fi movies ever made (take that 2001), but my favorite has to be the sequel Aliens (another seamlessly perfect movie).

It is the first of the Alien movies I saw when I was a very little kid. My dad was watching it late one night and I joined him because I couldn't sleep and being a kid I always wanted to be near the TV. It did scare me but soon grew on me until a decade later when the Aliens toys came out with the mini comics with it which made it for sure that I'll never give up on this franchise (Alien 3 didn't help).

Aliens also shows the way to change tones in between movies like the shift between the first 2 Terminator movie.

Aliens is my favorite out of the 6 movies (this list came out before Prometheus premiered).

What I think of Catwoman's look

The following is a comment I made to a internet reviewer about Catwoman's new look in The Dark Knight Rises. Do to the limited room for letters in YouTube's comment boxes, I was not able to give full thought but just the main point. Here is my full thought.

No two Catwomen are the same. Like Batman Returns this Catwoman will have little to nothing to do the any of the other Catwomen in comics, television series, and movies. This Catwoman is set in a different movie series that follows a different world with a different Batman and a different back story to go with Catwoman. This is one of those times when the new thing is so far from the old thing that you can't justify the way it looks until the movie is fully completed and seen. There were people who felt that Christian Bale was not a well preformed Batman in Batman Begins compared with their idea of Batman, Heath Ledger would no where be a well preformed Joker in The Dark Knight compared to all the great actors who've played the Joker in past movies and television series, and a very few people if any shed a tear over the destruction of the vehicle Tumbler after a one and half movie run. What looked to be bad ideas before the movie came was finished turned out great as for a few good ideas did not do as well. In closing I can't not give a proper judgment until I see the movie...she is pretty hot though.
