This is a comment I wrote for the Star Trek Wiki for a contest.
My favorite thing from Star Trek Into Darkness was the 3D. It really was
the best 3D movie I've seen and I've told others that they should pay
for the 3D.
The 3D made the movie feel a little more real and life like.
Sure beats Iron Man 3 3D for sure. The trees blended in so well, the
spears looked liked they were coming at me, the ships looked like models
floating in the air, and the actors (mainly their closeup faces) looked
like a person standing in front of me and not just a movie screen.
Star
Trek Into Darkness did a lot of things right and well, some things
really not well or just not right, but it was Star Trek Into Darkness
that showed me what a real 3D is from beginning to end and what all
future 3D movies I see will be compared to (namely World War Z &
Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2).
