Sonic in 2013 top 9 part 1

Here's a top 9 list things that happened to Sonic The Hedgehog in 2013.

9.Sonic Boom-toon

It was announced this year that a new Sonic cartoon will be coming in 2014. Being that this hasn't happened yet it get the 9 spot. Sonic returns to TV after 10 or so years away. Coming to Cartoon Network in the USA, Sonic & friends are getting a new look. From the looks of the preview pic Tails & Amy will look the same for the most part beside his tools in hand and her new outfit not being a dress. And that looks nothing like Knuckles, REALLY!? This show is going to be for more younger viewers than any of the past shows, so I really don't think there will be anything that will change the way people think of Sonic for the better.Working title for now is SONIC BOOM like the song and the big Sonic events, but that can easily change for the better or worst.

8. Sonic the balloon

2011 had the return of Sonic to the Macy's Day parade for his 20th birthday. 2011-2013 Sonic floating in the sky was not just a plug for the new game of the year but to show that video games have an impact the way we live.1993 Sonic floated once and was the first video game balloon in the parade, now he has been seen flying in the sky for 3 years straight now which shows that he is back on his feet at super sonic speeds.

7. Summer blues

2011 for the big birthday party of everything Sonic for the last 20 years there was a summer skate boarding event to promote the new Sonic game. Skaters of all ages and legends skated with Sonic walking around. Happening in the summer but wasn't shown on FOX SPORTS TV until a few months later.Well in 2013 the event was brought back for Sonic The Lost World. Shot in the summer again but didn't hit the TV until December. Sonic uses a skate board in like 1 game and maybe a little in one of the cartoons but I don't think of skating with Sonic. Well it has Sonic, a lot of skaters, and brings fans of t2 totally different things together for a short while which I think is something.

6. Sonic Boom on the move

Sonic Boom was first set in the same time and area as Comic-con and the again in 2012. In 2013 Sonic Boom was moved half way across the country and pushed back by a month. An event all about Sonic with special guests, preview, and rare items on sale put together by SEGA way move far away from the nerd homeland of Comic-con to stand on its own feet. Being a blue blur only convention has lost some of its surprise now by having it survive of Sonic fans coming to a new location with nothing else going on in the area just for Sonic anything show that if you put Sonic in the name and the fans will come. Hope 2014 Sonic Boom comes to Indy. That will save some gas money for me.

Halloween comic countdown #1

Like every day that has free comic books Sonic is the one I want the most.

1 - SONIC LOST WORLD

2 - CARTOON NETWORK SUPER SAMPLER

3 - MY LITTLE PONY HALLOWEEN EDITION

4 - ADVENTURE TIME

5 - UZUMAKI

6 - BATMAN THE LONG HALLOWEEN #1

7 - PANTALONES TX ZOMBINATA

Of course it's a Sonic comic as my number 1. Reprint or not even a story, I will pick the Blue Blur above all. I've been a fan for what some say to be too many years and I still love it in one way or another. Given the story in this issue I hope there will be some extras like pin-ups or up-to-date data files.

This is a sort of reprint. It's a story prequel to the new Sonic game Sonic Lost World for the Nintendo's WiiU & 3DS. It was going to premiere in the Sonic Super Special magazine #9 but this comes out a few weeks before that. The art looks great from the preview and giving that the story takes place before the game there could be some fun things here that won't be seen or made clear in the game.

I have high hopes for this comic since most of the other comics are reprints in a way but this will be way fresher than those. This issue is at a great price of course and will pad out a Sonic comic set or gifted with the game very well. This is a comic for Sonic fans of the comic or game for sure.Give this a read so you don't have to pay the $10 for the magazine if that's what you're after in it

Join the brigade

The Sonic The Hedgehog and Mega Man is well on it's way with part 4 that came out this week. Mega Man #25 also marks the end of the first act of the 12 part story. The first 4 parts can be easily found in comic shop, book store, or online applications with 8 more issue on the way. After the story line is complete all issue will be available in trade paperback. I'm taking the pledge and spreading the word too.

I, webfox100, do solemnly swear, to spread the word of the Sonic/Mega Man crossover, until everyone in the entire world knows of the awesomeness that is "Worlds Collide," or until Dr. Eggman and Dr. Wily take over the world with their dastardly schemes and outlaw reading.

A MEGA week

Mega Man #25 - ARCHIE COMICS
Mega Man issue 25 came out this week which marks 2 years since Archie comics started the series. Mega Man has been around for 25 years now making this issue an important deal to the blue bomber. Issue 25 is also part 4 of 12 in the Sonic and Mega Man cross over and the end of act 1 of the story. The story is going well and the art looks great. Trade paperbacks are still months away but you can easily find issues of the story in comic shops or just get all 4 at once on a digital app for smart phones, tablets, or PC. Follow the check list and spread the word to be apart of the

Free comic countdown #1

1 - SONIC THE HEDGEHOG MEGA MAN FLIPBOOK

2 - WALKING DEAD SPECIAL

3 - KABOOM SUMMER BLAST

4 - DC NATION SUPER SAMPLER #1

5 - ATOMIC ROBO & FRIENDS

6 - DH STAR WARS CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT AVATAR

7 - DRAGON BALL & RUROUNI KENSHIN RESTORATION

Of course it's a Sonic comic that would be my number 1. Sonic The Hedgehog is my favorite thing. Every month I look forward to the 2 different Sonic comics and when Free Comic Book Day comes I drool over the limit free issue. Like every year this issue is special but in a different way from the others.

This year Sonic's comic it a flip book with Mega Man. This is Mega Man's second year at Free Comic Book Day, last year was a reprint of the first issue. I love Sonic in many forms but Mega Man not so much. I played some Mega Man/X/Legends games and it's Legends that I liked the most. Classic MM games are too hard for me and X has a story I don't fully understand. MM had a few cartoons but the first one that was showed in the USA was very good. MM had many comics and manga but it's the Archie series that has a story that sticks to the game's stories while giving the characters, settings, and other factors more life. The art looks amazing as you look at it you can see the comic would look great as a 2D HD update of the games. The comic has been printing for 2 years now by the same artist and writers of the Sonic The Hedgehog comic.

Sonic The Hedgehog has had his comic printing in USA for 20 years now. The longest running comic based on a video game with more than 1 other side Sonic series being printed at the same time. It's the STH comics got made me in to a Sonic fan. This is STH's seventh year being in Free Comic Book Day and like past years the topic of the free issue is involved with the STH story line.

This year is the first time crossover of Sonic & Mega Man in any form. As I type this part 3 of the 12 part story is now on stands for pick up. This flip book is called a part 0 for the crossover. From what is shown in the preview pages this issue reprints parts of the STH & MM issues right before the crossover. This makes since to me but like always I hoped there was more. Maybe there could be in it. Fans who've been following the stories of the 2 comic won't need this issue and I don't think it will help new fan to get in to the stories. Being a STH comic with a bonus MM story I am getting this one for sure. I hope that there's more than just reprints in it.

Happy Free Comic Book Day everyone!

Sonic Generations of me

Way back in the year 1992 the video game company SEGA releases the sequel to its biggest selling at the time. This game is now available on dozens of platforms. It was the first in the series to have co-op play. The game I’m talking about has an epic story without a single word being said with music that I still sing today. This adventure spans four days around, under, and over one island, even in space. This video game that got me loving video games and the main character that stars in it is Sonic The Hedgehog 2.

It was Christmas and toys were everywhere. One of the many items me and my sisters got was a SEGA Genesis that came with Sonic 2 which we had to share. I played with it the most so I came to owning it. We also had a NES with one or two games and an Atari, both of which we hardly touch. They were not as fast, bright, and entertaining as the new system in the house that will turn me in to a gamer. Some other games were rented here and there like Mortal Kombat 3 but didn’t have the gameplay of Sonic 2 which was the only game at the time I enjoyed. It would be some years later until I play the first game but not as much time would pass until I play the sequel Sonic 3.

Sonic 2 was the first game I beat, over and over again. Sonic 2 got me in to collecting all of the rings, I still fail at it. It also got me to start seeing the patterns in enemies and bosses. After many times of play I then started to see that the faster I play the bigger point bonus I’ll get. I replay levels to find hidden items and faster routes. When I finally got all of the chaos emeralds a whole new world of Sonic opened for me thanks to Super Sonic. Sometime later I came across video game codes for Sonic 2 that just crank up the crazy fun for me to have. Enter the level select to replay my favorite parts all I wanted, enter the sound test part to chill to the tune without enemies or time limit, and then came the debug code that not only had me making a crazy fun game in to just crazy but had me to follow the path of a gamer to the road of game maker. The debug code not only gave me a peek of what a game can do, but how they are made and worked.

Most people may say that they love Sonic 3 more but there would be no Sonic 3 if Sonic 2 didn’t start the grand story of the Death Egg. The Sonic comic book and cartoons came out the year before Sonic 3 which shows that Sonic 2 had been doing so well in sells that more money was put in the idea of Sonic to make a comic book with a continuing story that still runs today and two cartoons, one that's all wacky comedy which each episode could be a standalone and the other cartoon is an epic tale with humor to keep it friendly with lots of darkness and even a bit of sadness too.

The Mario games like to have the word bros. in the title but the player can only play as one of them at a time where as in Sonic 2 the 2 does not only mean that it’s the second game but also that two player can play at once. Player one plays as Sonic who is the only one who can get power ups, hit the signpost, lose rings when hit, has the camera following him, and dies. Player two plays as Tails with the same moves, ability to hit baddies, collect rings, and the ability to not stay dead. It was with this type of game play the that teamwork skills are made by having player one move the camera while player two takes the hits. My sister was player two which was a stepping stone for her to become a gamer as well.

Sonic is my favorite thing. He has done more wrongs than Mario but Sonic gets right the things Mario can’t do well or at all. Starting with Sonic 2, continuing with the comic book, and now plans to take the Xbox360 and Wii to the heights of new game play fun for everyone at the speed of sound, Sonic won’t stop no matter the speed bump.

Happy birthday Sonic!

Beware Sonic fans.

Some parents who saw the Kroger ad from last week may have seen this not so well put together emulator of some games with Sonic on the cover. Spread the word to avoid.

Happy Birthday DreamCast. While it's thinking, I'm playing forever.
